New Service Times and Serving Information

After six months of prayer, discussions, and a survey to the church to gain an understanding of service attendance trends, we are announcing today the new service times that will come into effect on Sunday, September 8, 2019.

Starting September 8, services will be on Sundays at 8:30am, 10:15am, 12pm, and 5pm.

Upcoming Serving Opportunities

This upcoming change is an exciting time for our church and we are excited about the opportunities that these four services will create.

As we look forward to gospel and discipleship expansion as we enter our four services, there are 400 serving opportunities coming this fall! We are called to serve within our church and we know the need is there even now with only three services!

Take a look at the three ministry areas that have the biggest need!

Hope Kids (200 people needed)
To serve within our Hope Kids Ministry, you must have

  • Attended Hope for 6+ months

Connections (100 people needed)

Why Are We Doing This?

The vision for this change can be broken down into two main categories:

Gospel Expansion

    • The Worship Centre Has Now Been at Capacity for Nearly Two Years (not including the summer months).
Historically, when the Lord has filled a service we have responded by adding another service, live streaming to an overflow room, sending out hundreds to church plants, and buying land and building a larger facility. By adding a service, we are responding to what the Lord is already doing. We pray this will lead to more gospel opportunities as the Lord moves in the opportunities He brings.
    • Discipleship and Training Opportunities.
Our current service schedule, along with the limitations on classrooms available for adult discipleship, hinders the scope of training during the prime time hours of worship service times. With four services in the fall and the gap between the 12:00PM and 5:00PM services, this allows for more classroom space for training and discipleship. This Fall, we will be communicating an exciting new emphasis on discipleship. As new discipling opportunities arise in the years ahead, this move proactively creates space for more time slots for the equipping of the church.
    • Gospel Reach Outside the Walls of the Church.
By eliminating a day that could otherwise be used for gathering in worship, this creates increased space in many of our calendars to see how the Lord may have us utilize this time most effectively. As we seek to live out the 5G Life, perhaps the Lord is asking us to engage with the body of Christ more frequently outside of a worship service as we grow in fellowship together. The Lord may also lead us to be a greater gospel witness to our neighbours and use this newfound day for that. Pray and consider what this means for you and your family.

Sustainability

  • One of the reasons for a delay in going to four services, even when we hit capacity in three services, was the question around sustainability for both the ministry staff and volunteers. This new service arrangement allows for both adding and subtracting. A new service is added that allows us to respond to the growth, and one day of ministry is subtracted to allow staff and volunteers to gain time back with their families. By the Lord's grace, we hope and pray to have many fruitful years ahead of us, and so we want to be good stewards of the people and resource the Lord has given.

Obviously, by adding another service, there will be an increased need for volunteers to serve in many capacities. Over the coming weeks, we will be communicating the new opportunities that will be needed for us to serve each other, and God willing, many new people in the near future.
If you would like to sign-up to volunteer where most needed, you can fill out our online form by clicking the button below right now, and we will endeavour to get back to you within the week with more information.
