Update from Lucas Burton: Inception vs Twilight

Dear Friends and Family,

Believe it or not, there’s a connection between the movies Inception and Twilight and sharing the gospel with students in Denmark–watch the video above to find out more!

As I write this, my team and I are preparing to enter the final stretch of our ministry year in Copenhagen. In just a few days we are receiving another group of Canadian students who will join us for the entire month of May, which marks our last major campus outreach.

As we continue engaging with Danish students on campus and at our weekly meetings, our prayer is that they would come to realize that Christianity is not what they think it is. Being a Christian is about more than observing religious traditions and being a good person–it’s a call to enter the story of God reconciling the world to himself through union with Jesus, the King of Kings.

In view of the work that is set before us in the month May, I ask that you continue partnering with my team and I through prayer. Here are a few ways you can pray for us:

  • Pray God would protect and prepare the hearts and minds of the Canadian students who will be arriving in Copenhagen soon and joining us in our outreach throughout the month of May.
  • Pray the Lord would give us discernment as we organize events that will respond to the specific misconceptions of Christianity that Danish students have. Pray students would attend these events and would leave with a genuine curiosity and desire to learn more about what it means to know and follow Jesus.
  • Pray for me personally as I will be speaking at these events. Pray I would be filled with the Holy Spirit as I prepare the messages I will share and in the moment of my speaking.

Brothers and sisters, I thank the Lord for your ongoing support in prayer––we have felt the effects of your intercession throughout this year, and we know that we are lost without it. If there are specific ways in which I can be praying for you also, please don’t hesitate to let me know!

Yours in fulfilling the Great Commission,
