Wednesday in Haiti

This morning a passage from 2 Corinthians 5:18 was a part of my devotions. “All this is from God, who through Christ reconciled us to himself and gave us the ministry of reconciliation.”
While letting the beauty and truth of that sink in I began to realize again that we were about to live it out today. I cannot stop being amazed at Jesus, who has not just saved us but now is working through us to bring others to Him!

Today we returned to an area close to to the Dominican Republic border called Liberte. Such an appropriate name for a place where we had the opportunity to share the Good News of freedom that can be found in Jesus. We headed out radios in hand with hearts full of faith that God is on the move, He knows those that are His, and will call them to Himself.

We had the privilege of meeting some more beautiful Haitian people. As we were going from house to house we met a few that already had a relationship with Christ. Others did not want Jesus just yet, and we pleaded with them to be reconciled to God through Christ. Then there were also some that received Jesus. What a privilege it was to be a part of His reconciling work!

Our team also had the opportunity to pray with an older blind man who had received Christ four years earlier. Now here was a heart that loved Jesus. As we walked into his tiny house that was hot and dirty he kept saying, “alleluia merci Jesus” over and over brimming with excitement, even shaking for our team to pray for him. What a privilege to bring a cold cup of water to one of His children, so humbled to tears that God would do this through us.

How good He is, how worthy.
