Food Help

Access groceries and other home essentials

Access to food should never be a worry. Our food assistance program provides groceries and essential items once a month to members of our community like you in need. Here are two ways we help:

  • Market: In-person grocery shopping at our church by appointment
  • Meals: Fresh meals prepared for you during a time of crisis

Whether you need fresh produce, pantry staples, or hygiene products, we’re here to help you. We believe in supporting our community with real, tangible help — because no one should face food insecurity alone.

Deacon Care

Meeting your practical, tangible needs

Deacons serve you, our church and community, with a focus on the following four care priorities:

Ease your financial burden

Feeling overwhelmed financially? You don’t have to face it alone.

If you’re struggling to make ends meet, receive assistance that helps cover essential expenses like rent and utilities. Our church community also offers financial guidance without judgment to help you get back on your feet.

Helping hands for your home

Is home maintenance becoming too much to handle? Our team of volunteers is ready to assist with tasks you find difficult to manage on your own.

From fixing leaky faucets to light yard work and repairs, we’re here to lighten your load and help you feel at ease in your home.

Encouragement and relational support

Feeling discouraged or defeated? A supportive friend can offer encouragement during life’s tough moments.

Life’s challenges are easier to navigate when shared. Our relational support team is here to listen, encourage, and uplift you, whether you’re facing loneliness, relationship difficulties, or just need someone to talk to.

Care through illness and recovery

Recovering from illness or surgery? Or just need some company? We’re here to visit and offer support.

Our team provides hospital visits, home care, and simple check-ins to ensure you’re not alone in health challenges. We believe that health is about more than just the body—it’s about caring for the heart and soul, too.

Soul Care

Counselling & biblical care for your soul

If you've suffered abuse, anxiety, despair, or marital obstacles, we're here to point you to Christ in an intimate and grace-filled environment.

Soul Care is a Bible-saturated, Holy Spirit-guided ministry of discipleship that focuses on the practical application of God's Word in our daily lives.

Wherever you’re at in the messiness of life, we care about how you’re doing.

Addiction Recovery

In your darkness, there is hope

Addiction promises pleasure but only delivers emptiness and destruction. What begins as an escape from reality quickly becomes a life of bondage to drugs, alcohol, gambling, sex, or food.

While you may feel surrounded by darkness, there is hope! You’re invited to visit our recovery group. After teaching, we break out into gender-specific groups for prayer and encouragement. Meetings last about 90 minutes.

Recovery meets at the church on Tuesday nights at 7:00PM, upstairs in the Youth Lounge. You don’t need to register — as long as you’re over the age of 18, just show up and join us anytime.

English as a Second Language (ESL)

Improve your English language skills with God’s Word

Just like our neighbourhoods, schools, and workplaces, Hope Oakville reflects a rich tapestry of languages and culture. Motivated by our love for Jesus Christ, and using the Bible as our text, we offer English classes at four ability levels to those who are seeking to improve their English language skills.

Classes meet on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 12:45–2:45PM. Registration for the fall term (2024/2025) will be in-person at the church on September 24 and September 26 at 1:00PM. Classes for students that have registered on either of those two dates will begin on Tuesday, October 1 at 12:45PM.
