OUR MISSION

To glorify God through the fulfillment of the Great Commission (Matthew 28:19-20) in the spirit of the Great Commandment (Matthew 22:37–39).

Our four pillars

Proclaiming the authority of God’s Word without apology

Preach the word; be ready in season and out of season; reprove, rebuke, and exhort, with complete patience and teaching. - 2 Timothy 4:2

Lifting high the name of Jesus through worship

God is spirit, and those who worship him must worship in spirit and truth. - John 4:24

Believing firmly in the power of prayer

Praying at all times in the Spirit, with all prayer and supplication. To that end keep alert with all perseverance, making supplication for all the saints. - Ephesians 6:18

Sharing the good news of Jesus with boldness

And also for me, that words may be given to me in opening my mouth boldly to proclaim the mystery of the gospel, for which I am an ambassador in chains, that I may declare it boldly, as I ought to speak. - Ephesians 6:19-20

Our history

20+ years of God's faithfulness

Here's some of what God has done at Hope so far — see the full 20 year timeline here.

Early 2003

God stirred two couples with passions for a Harvest church in the Oakville area. Soon, 18 people were meeting for prayer meetings.

2003

The group’s leaders met the leaders from Calvary Baptist Church. Miraculously, a struggling Calvary voted to become Harvest Bible Chapel Oakville.

2006

By Easter 2006, it was necessary to add a third service on Saturday nights. Then overflow seating, and eventually a fourth service!

2009–2011

Harvest Oakville sends out its first church plant in the city of Brampton. Then, in 2011, another church plant went out in the region of Niagara.

2012

After years of praying and saving, the Lord led Harvest Oakville to purchase a new property at 500 Great Lakes Blvd. to accommodate the thousands that called Harvest their home church.

2013–2014

In 2013, Harvest sent out two church plants to the areas of Toronto-West and Brantford. In 2014, a church plant was sent to Kelowna.

2016

The I Am a Christ Follower sermon series was introduced – a foundational testament to what the church believes about the Christian walk.

2017

Another church plant was sent out to Ottawa!

2018

Harvest Bible Chapel officially joined the family of like-minded churches affiliated with the Great Commission Collective (GCC).

2019

On Easter 2019, the church changed its name to Hope Bible Church Oakville. A name that reflects the true HOPE experienced by Christ followers!

2022–2023

In 2022, Hope planted a church in Quebec, Eglise Doxa. Then, in 2023, a planted satellite site was organized in Orangeville.

Great Commission Collective (GCC)

In 2018, Hope Bible Church officially joined the Great Commission Collective. As a collaborative family of like-minded churches, the GCC trains leaders and plants Gospel‑centred churches with the following distinctives:
